“If a photographer cares about the people before the lens and is compassionate, much is given. It is the photographer, not the camera, that is the instrument.”

Hi, my name is Moriah Mylod, I am the Head Photographer of Maeven House Photography. Maeven House is the name of my photo studio. Maven means one who is experienced and knowledgeable-- and in Gaelic, Maeven (with the extra "e") means 'mesmerizing raven.'

Since high school, I’ve loved capturing the world around me and documenting my friends through photography—a passion I’ve never stopped pursuing. For two and a half years I shot professional wedding photography for a Botique Wedding Company located in Clinton, NJ. As a visual artist I have decided to blaze my own trail. I’ve recently expanded my focus by studying professional portrait photography. This medium allows me to combine artistic integrity with a meaningful service to others.

Image-making specifically photography is a way I create the visual storytelling of you and your meaningful moments. I am interested in capturing the timelessness in the photos I take with precision, skill, and most of all creativity. My hope is to ultimately bring forward the life in the heartbeat of a snap to hold as memories forever. I have a natural inclination as well as a developed eye for

beauty,

light/shadow,

juxtaposition,

composition, and capturing the pure essence of the individual(s), place, and time.

Is it time to envision together and tell your story through a visually artful, beautiful, and poetic lens? It would be an honor to deliver these documentation services to you.

“Moriah is the ultimate artist, professional, and kind human being. Being in front of the camera isn’t always the most comfortable experience, but Moriah made it fun and relaxed with her kind and sensitive disposition. Moriah’s eye for detail and composition is apparent in the fantastic shots she got. Moriah worked magic and captured my family in the most gorgeous lighting and natural poses. I will treasure the photos forever.”
